NIH hosts December 3 webinar to help researchers use RECOVER data
Researchers can learn how to access and use data from RECOVER’s pediatric observational study during the next BioData Catalyst (BDC) Community Hours event.
Each month, the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute (NHLBI) hosts an hour-long webinar to help researchers use BioData Catalyst® (BDC). BioData Catalyst® is an online database where researchers can find, access, share, store, and analyze medical research data.
December’s webinar, BDC RECOVER Community Hours: Explore RECOVER Pediatric Observational Cohort Study, will be held Tuesday, December 3, 2024, at 1:00 PM EST. Through BDC, researchers can request access to de-identified individual participant data from RECOVER’s observational studies, including data from the adult (including pregnant adults) and pediatric cohorts.
During the webinar, presenters will:
- Discuss recently released data from RECOVER’s pediatric study, which includes more than 24,000 young adults, children, infants, and their caregivers
- Show how to identify study variables (like vaccination status, symptoms, lab results, and biospecimens) and filter results to create groups (or cohorts) in BDC
- Outline how to request authorization for access to de-identified participant-level data on BDC and use Open PIC-SURE, a publicly available query tool, for scientific investigations
- Answer questions about BDC
