RECOVER-TLC seeks public input on potential Long COVID treatments, biomarkers, and the initiative’s work to date.

As RECOVER-Treating Long COVID (RECOVER-TLC) plans for the next phase of Long COVID clinical trials, it continues to seek input from the public, especially from patients and caregivers whose lives have been affected by the condition.

The National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID), in collaboration with the National Heart, Blood, and Lung Institute (NHLBI), the National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke (NINDS), and the Foundation for the NIH (FNIH) are focused on finding treatments for Long COVID and its many symptoms. Part of this effort includes collecting ideas for potential treatments through an online portal.

RECOVER Announcement

Through RECOVER-TLC's intervention request form, anyone can submit ideas for drugs, devices, or other treatments that may help address and manage Long COVID symptoms. A panel of experts will review and score all submissions to identify which treatment ideas are most promising and prioritize which to study first. People who submit ideas will receive an email from the RECOVER-TLC management team after a potential treatment has been reviewed and a decision has been made on how to proceed.

In addition to sharing potential Long COVID treatments, RECOVER-TLC invites the Long COVID community to respond to a request for information (RFI). Through different online forms, anyone interested in RECOVER-TLC can:

Responses to the RFI, including submitting potential Long COVID treatments, can be submitted through 12:00 am ET on February 1, 2025.

From the beginning, RECOVER and RECOVER-TLC have included perspectives and lived experiences from people with Long COVID, Long COVID caregivers and advocates, researchers, and healthcare providers in its planning efforts. RECOVER-TLC officially launched with a 3-day kickoff meeting in late September, where panelists and attendees discussed ways that RECOVER-TLC can build on the RECOVER Initiative’s discoveries and progress to date. RECOVER created the world’s most comprehensive and diverse group of Long COVID study participants and continues to learn about Long COVID, share research, make its data publicly available, and adapt its efforts to ease suffering for millions of people.
