Sharing science to understand Long COVID
RECOVER Research Review (R3) Seminar Series
The goal of the R3 Seminar Series is to share the RECOVER Initiative’s research findings with researchers and the public. These seminars accelerate scientific discovery by allowing experts to share their latest insights on Long COVID and related conditions. Some R3 sessions also inform the public about other research on Long COVID. You can find recordings of all R3 Seminar sessions in the Previous Seminars section below.
Effectiveness of Paxlovid in Protecting Against Long COVID: EHR Insights
Speakers will present findings from two studies examining whether Paxlovid treatment in the acute phase of COVID-19 helps to prevent Long COVID. The study teams used electronic health records from the National Covid Cohort Collaborative (N3C) and the National Patient-Centered Clinical Research Networks (PCORnet) RECOVER repository.
During the October 11th RECOVER Research Review (R3) Seminar, presenters discussed leveraging mobile health platform technologies to understand PASC. The seminar explored what is known about these technologies in PASC research, the gaps in our knowledge, and how RECOVER will contribute to filling these gaps.
During the September 27th RECOVER Research Review (R3) Seminar, researchers presented findings from autopsy studies on PASC. Presenters discussed what has been learned about PASC from autopsy studies, the gaps in our knowledge, and how RECOVER will contribute to filling these knowledge gaps.
During the September 13th RECOVER Research Review (R3) Seminar, researchers presented on the clinical spectrum of PASC with a focus on coagulopathies. Presenters discussed our current understanding of coagulopathies in PASC, the gaps in our knowledge, and how RECOVER will contribute to filling these knowledge gaps.
During the August 23rd RECOVER Research Review (R3) Seminar, researchers presented on the clinical spectrum of PASC with a focus on sleep. Presenters discussed our current understanding of sleep disturbances in PASC patients, the gaps in our knowledge, and how RECOVER will contribute to filling these knowledge gaps.
During the August 9th RECOVER Research Review (R3) Seminar, researchers presented the effects of COVID-19 on mental health in both adults and children, including brain changes and mental health issues. Presenters discussed what is known about these effects and how COVID-19 can cause mental health problems.
During the July 26th RECOVER Research Review (R3) Seminar, researchers presented on sex-specific differences in how people experience COVID-19 and PASC. Presenters discussed the impact of COVID-19 on gynecologic health, male infertility, hormones, sexual dysfunction, and the placenta.
During the July 12th RECOVER Research Review (R3) Seminar, researchers presented on metabolism and gastrointestinal function in PASC. The seminar explored what is known about this topic, the gaps in our knowledge, and how RECOVER will contribute to filling these gaps.
During the June 28th RECOVER Research Review (R3) Seminar, researchers presented cardiopulmonary functions in PASC. Presenters explored what is known about cardiac function in PASC patients, the gaps in our knowledge, and how RECOVER will contribute to filling these knowledge gaps.
During the June 14th RECOVER Research Review (R3) Seminar, researchers presented on the clinical spectrum of PASC with a focus on neurocognitive function. Presenters discussed the current understanding of neurocognitive function in PASC patients, the gaps in our knowledge, and how RECOVER will contribute to filling these knowledge gaps.
